Room Types at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort: Ultimate Guide

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a standout in the value inn & suite category because of the diverse room options it offers. Let’s go over all the Room Types at Cabana Bay. Cabana Bay has options ranging from 2 queen rooms for up to 4 guests, to 2-bedroom suites for up to 8 guests.  In between, family suites are available for up to 6 guests!

    The Vibe

In these retro-style rooms, inspired by Florida resorts lining the beaches in the 1950 and 60s, Cabana Bay is all retro and guests will find VO5 shampoo and Zest soap in the bathroom.

Room Types at Cabana Bay: Standard Rooms

The standard rooms at Cabana Bay have three different views that you can book.  There are standard, poolside standard, and Volcano Bay view standard rooms.  These three room types are the same in layout and size but have varying views.

    • A standard room can have a basic parking lot view
    • Poolside rooms will feature a view of the courtyard leading to the pool area
    • Volcano Bay view rooms will have exactly that – views of Universal’s Volcano Bay water park

Standard rooms of any view are 300 square feet in size.  These rooms accommodate up to 4 guests, including an infant.  The rooms also have a small table with 2 chairs in addition to the tv and dresser.  The bathrooms have a layout where the tub/shower is with the toilet and there’s a separate vanity area.

All rooms include a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, safe, mini-refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, and pack-n-plays are available upon request for no charge.  There’s more than 1200 standard rooms onsite.  Standard rooms are located in the Americana, Continental, and Bayside & Beachside towers.

Room Types at Cabana Bay: Family Suites

Family Suites give more space for parties looking for a little more room, or sleeping spaces for up to 6 guests!  These suites are 430 square feet and have 2 queen beds, and also a living space that has a full size pull-out sofa.  The living space has a sliding privacy partition between it and the bedroom. A nice benefit of the family suites are the kitchenettes that have a mini refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffee/tea maker and counter top with 2 stools.  The kitchenette includes a small selection of paper and plastic utensils and eatware.

The bathrooms in the family suite are generous in size so 3 people can prepare at the same time.  There is one area for the tub/shower which includes a sink, another area for the toilet, and another area with a vanity and sink.

The 900 family suites also are bookable with different views and one major distinction is that some have an exterior entry, while others have an interior entry.  This is a big difference – exterior entries have that more traditional “motel” feel where interior entries have an interior hallway and more “hotel” feel to them.  Guests may find the interior entrances less noisy than the exterior ones.

Both the exterior and interior entry family suites can be booked with a standard or poolside view.

    • Exterior entry family suites are in the Starlight, Thunderbird, and Castaway buildings.
    • Interior entry family suites are located in the Americana & Continental Towers.

Room Types at Cabana Bay: Volcano Bay View 2-Bedroom Suites
