So Express Pass is sold out for your Epic Universe dates. Here’s how you still might be able to get it:
Don’t Give Up Yet: Where to Find Express Pass When It’s “Sold Out”
Just because Express Pass shows as sold out online doesn’t mean you’re completely out of options. Universal holds back inventory for various distribution channels, and you might still snag one with a little persistence.
Universal Resort Hotel Guest Services
If you’re staying at a Universal resort hotel, check with the front desk or guest services first thing in the morning (usually between 8 am and 9 am). Hotels often have a small allocation of Express Passes reserved for their guests that aren’t available online. This inventory is released day-of and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Park Concierge Desks
Once you’re inside Epic Universe, head straight to the park’s concierge or guest services desk near the entrance (don’t go to the one at the front of the park, it’s usually too crowded). They may have limited Express Pass inventory available for same-day purchase that wasn’t released online. Again, you’ll want to check this immediately upon entering the park, not at 2 PM when they’re long gone.
Call Universal Directly
Sometimes calling Universal’s main guest services line (407-224-4233) yields results that the website doesn’t show. A live agent may have access to inventory or cancellations that haven’t appeared online yet. It’s worth a 10-minute phone call before you give up.
Check for Cancellations Throughout Your Stay
If you’re visiting for multiple days, keep checking the Universal app and website. Guests do cancel, and inventory can pop up unexpectedly. Set a reminder to check a few times a day leading up to your visit.
VIP Experience Alternative
If Express Pass is completely unavailable but you’re willing to spend more, Universal’s VIP Tours include Express Pass-like benefits plus a dedicated guide. While significantly more expensive, it’s an option when regular Express Pass is sold out and you want that line-skipping experience.

The Silver Lining
Experiencing Epic Universe without Express Pass forces you to slow down and actually absorb the theming and storytelling that Universal created. You might discover that the journey through the queue is part of the attraction (particularly in Monsters Unchained and Battle at the Ministry), notice details you’d otherwise miss, and have a more memorable visit precisely because you weren’t in such a rush.
Express Pass is convenient, but it’s not the only way to have a great day at Epic Universe. With smart planning, realistic expectations, and strategy, you can still conquer the incredible new park.
